2 Months of Happiness

Kurt and I just celebrated the first 2 months of being sealed for time and all eternity, and we have loved every minute of learning and growing together as a couple.  To celebrate, we went and saw Comedy Sportz (thanks to Kurt's brother-in-law, Will!) and we had a blast! I had never been before, so I was definitely excited to go.  For those of you who don't know, Comedy Sportz is a stand-up comedy club down on Provo Center Street.  There are 6 comedians, split up into 2 teams of 3, and a referee.  Each team of comedians challenges the other team to different types of comedy skits, comedy songs, and much more.  Based on how the audience votes, the team who the audience thinks did the best, wins that round.  The comedy is clean, which Kurt and I are definitely fans of.  We were actually able to contibute to one of the skits.  The comedians asked for 2 phones, and for the owners of the phones to pick a text conversation in their phone for the comedian to read.  The 2 comedians have to only use lines from the text conversation from the phone they have been given.  Kurt was very brave and gave his phone to one of the comedians!  As odd as it sounds, it was SO funny! We couldn't stop laughing.  It was a great way to celebrate our first 2 months of happiness :)  After that, Kurt took me to Sammy's and we shared a pie shake.  I LOVE PIE SHAKES.  It's pretty much a milkshake, but they blend in a slice of pie, or cobler, or cheesecake. It's delicious!  It was the perfect way to end the night.
My sister, Christine, has been staying with us for the past few days, and will be with us for about a week.  Friday night, we were able to play a little family game of Scrabble.  My family has a weird love of word games.  Kurt has grown to love them too...or at least I hope he has (he doesn't win very often, so he may not have...).  But, long story short, I won with a grand total of 173 points.  If it weren't for the word "QUO" with my Q (worth 10 points) on a triple letter score, I probably wouldn't have won, but I won fair and square.  Kurt wants to play again so he can try to win.  We'll see about that.
If any of you have seen my facebook (which I'm assuming many of you have), you've probably noticed that Kurt and I received our wedding pictures.  Blake Grimmer did an AMAZING job.  I've always loved his work, so I was very excited when he accepted to be our wedding photographer.  He was tons of fun to work with, was very professional, but still relaxed at the same time.  He totally fit our personalities and we couldn't be happier with the way the photos turned out.  Here's a couple of pictures from the MANY that we have.  Some of these aren't posted on Facebook, so it's the first time some of these pictures have been seen by the public.  We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

This is one of my FAVORITE wedding reception decorations.  We had the timeline of our relationship written in vinyl on a chalkboard.  I am obsessed with this.  It's going to be hung in our apartment sometime in the near future.

Kissing Booth
Having a Kissing Booth was actually Kurt's idea.  He and some wonderful friends built it, while a friend, my mom, and I painted it.  I love how it turned out! We had a polaroid camera at the kissing booth and wedding guests were able to take pictures of each other and take them home.

I LOVED my wedding dress, and Kurt looked so handsome in his suit.  This is one of my favorite pictures of us.  I have the best looking husband, that's for sure :)

First dance with the love of my life.

Father-Daughter dance.  My dad means the world to me.  I'm so happy he was there for Kurt and me on our special day. He has always been so supportive, and has always been there for me, and for Kurt.  Love you, Dad!

I have the most AMAZING in-laws.
Saying goodbye to my sisters and my mom was probably the hardest part of the day.  I am so grateful for my sister and my wonderful mother for being so amazing, and for helping the wedding plans come together, and for everything they've done for me.  I really do have the greatest family.

We were also featured on the Santa Barbara Wedding Blog on June 21st.  It's quite exciting to see our wedding pictures show up places, and it's even more exciting that our wedding photographer is getting so much publicity.  We love it!

All in all, these past two months have FLOWN BY.  I can hardly believe that I was marrying the man of my dreams just 8 weeks ago.  It already feels so much longer than that.  Two months down, eternity to go. :)

All in all, these past two months have FLOWN BY.  I can hardly believe that I was marrying the man of my dreams just 8 weeks ago.  It already feels so much longer than that.  Two months down, eternity to go. :)

No June Gloom Here!

June has been a wonderful month for us!  We have been overwhelmed with the love and support that people give us each and every day. Here are a couple of things we've done this month.

- We have watched every game of the NBA Finals.  We love Miami Heat!
- We spoke in church on Father's Day.  I was able to introduce our family to the ward (which is weird), and we both spoke about the lessons we have learned from our fathers, grandfathers, respected Priesthood holders, and our Heavenly Father.  We loved the chance to show appreciation to the great men in our lives and to show the ward the kind of people we are.
- We study nonstop.  I am always studying for a test and/or quiz (I have a quiz in almost every class, everyday) and Kurt is studying so hard for the CPA exam.  I love studying with Kurt.  Believe it or not, it's a lot easier studying with him than without him because I can count studying time as spending time with Kurt as well.
- We got a couch! It's not all that extravagant, but the red couch cover we bought for it is quite nice :)  We're getting closer to making our apartment a little more like a Home...but at the rate we are going, I'm  afraid will be "moving in" until the day we have to move out!
- We get to see family ALL THE TIME! I absolutely love it.  Kurt runs with his sister, Amy, about twice a week, and then I get to spend time with her when I come home from school.  We watch all the NBA Finals games at Jason and Faith's house, which has been a lot of fun.  We see Shelly, Will, Alex, and Brett a couple times a month as well.  We love spending time with them.  The boys are growing up really fast!  We got to spend time with Ryan, Kaylynn and Dallin this past weekend.  Dallin is getting so big!  It's always fun going to Highland to visit them when they are in town.  We hope to see them more often in the future.
- We got our wedding photos! Blake Grimmer Photography did an amazing job.  I am obsessed with the pictures.  I'm sure Kurt is probably tired of me asking him to go through all of them with me.  But we both are very pleased with how they turned out.  We just can't believe the wedding and reception was almost 2 months ago (wow!).
- It's been reeeeeeally hot here. It's been in the high 80s, and sometimes the low 90s, so going to the pool is always fun.  Unfortunately, Kurt doesn't join me most of the time.  That's okay though.  It's because he's working so hard to provide for our little family. I'm okay with that :)  Utah summers can be really hot.  I'm used to June Gloom in California, where it doesn't usually get hot until July, and it's cloudy all June.  I'm glad we don't have that here.
- We watched all the Fast and Furious movies in a week.  It was fun having our own little movie marathon.  We love watching movies together.  Since we don't have a TV yet, we just watch in on the bed on my computer.  I always seem to fall asleep during movies, so I'm trying to get better at staying awake and paying attention so Kurt doesn't have to watch by himself.

Overall, this month has been great! We really look forward to continuing our first summer together and having our own Witt Family adventures.  On the agenda for the rest of the month is studying, babysitting Alex and Brett so Shelly and Will can celebrate their anniversary, studying, going to the temple, studying, having Christine come stay with us before she moves to Colorado for her internship...oh yeah...did I mention studying? :)

We Love Our Cousins!

Just wanted to give Nathan and Laura Otto a shout out! We love them, and are very sad that they are moving away soon :(

Just so everyone knows, Laura is an amazing cook and Nathan makes awesome smoothies.

The Month of May

Kurt and I have had so much fun together this past month!  We love discovering new things to do together and have had many opportunities to learn more about one another.  Since I haven't posted anything during the last half of May, here is a list of the wonderful things Kurt and I have been able to experience! :)

- I started seeing patients at school.
- My sister, Christine, stayed with us for a night and I was able to drop her off for her BYU Study Abroad.
- Kurt and I have been able to spend a lot of time with our nephews, Alex and Brett.  We love having them over at our apartment.  We've also had several opportunities to spend time with their wonderful parents, Shelly and Will, at their place.  We love having family so close by!
- Kurt started studying for the CPA exam.
- We went to the Imagine Dragons concert here in Orem (and we LOVED IT!).
- Spent a day in Heber City, UT for a missionary homecoming of a close friend's parents.
- Celebrated our 1 month anniversary on Memorial Day (we spent nearly the entire day studying).
- We go on dates every Friday.
- We went to the Provo Temple.  It was my first time :)
- We have watched MANY Miami Heat basketball games.
- We have had dinner with Jason and Faith twice.
- We rented a puppy! Well...I rented a puppy.  There's a company called Puppies For Rent in Provo, and I won the Naming Contest to name their new puppy, and the prize was 2 free hours with the puppy.  Kurt and I had a lot of fun with him.
- The pool at our apartment complex opened, and with it being so hot and the weather being so beautiful, it has been hard to avoid.
- WE GOT A BED! No more air mattress, thank goodness.  Along with that, we've been able to settle down into our apartment more, which has been very nice.  Our little 1 bedroom apartment is really starting to feel like a Home.
- We went rock climbing.  I've been wanting to go rock climbing with Kurt for a long time, and he finally took me! We were the only ones there, so it was nice that we could blast music and just hang out together.  My arms are so sore!
- We finished reading the Book of Mormon together.  We have loved being able to grow spiritually together, and look forward to studying the scriptures more this year.

The month of May has been really fun for us.  We can't wait to see what June has in store for us.  Since we finished the Book of Mormon, I've decided to read the Doctrine & Covenants in chronological order, and Kurt is currently reading the Pearl of Great Price.  He has said something about reading the Book of Mormon again by the end of the year, along with studying the Doctrine & Covenants.  I admire his love of scripture study and his desire to grow in the Gospel.  I married an amazing man!
We look forward to more experiences we can share together.  We love learning more about each other everyday.  We are excited for summer and the wonderful adventures it will bring for our little family.

We had so much fun at this concert!  We hope to go to another one soon.

Puppies for Rent! We spent 2 hours with Harley.  It was nice being able to have some
company while Kurt had to work.  But Kurt came and played with us after :)
